Q. What is the best way to store my sea salts?

A.  All solid salts, including sea salts are actually the edible rocks. This gives them a virtually unlimited self life. Still, a little care will make their use easier and help preserve the quality of some specialty sea salts.

Since none of our natural sea salts do not contain anti-caking ingredients such as calcium silicate, commonly found in more processed salts, moisture or humid conditions can cause them to clump. This clumping doesn't hurt sea salts, but for easy of use this can be prevented by storing sea salts in a dry airtight container. This is especially important in humid climates.

Specialty sea salts such as smoked salts will also lose quality over time by exposure to air. Rather than storing them in an open container, store them in a tightly sealed jar or other container that will preserve their special aroma's and flavor's for a couple of years.

 

Q. When I change a quantity in the shopping cart the old quantity still appeasers during checkout. What happened?

A. After changing a quantity in the shopping cart the "edit quantities" button must be pressed for the change to be recognized by shopping cart.

Q. Every time I add an item to the shopping cart the previous item I added is gone. What is happening?

A.  Your browser is rejecting cookies. The shopping cart keeps track of you and your order by placing a small identifying piece of information on your computer called a cookie.

Although your browser may be accepting some cookies, the privacy level may still be too high to allow the shopping cart to function properly. Go to the tools menu at the top of your browser, then click internet options, choose the privacy tab, and set the slide to medium, or low.
